Thoroughbred crosscountry weapon
Imagine yourself powering up climbs, effortlessly carving down tricky descents, and then sprinting to the finish line. This is what cross-country racing is all about. Riding hard and riding fast, first up, then down every trail. The TE02 was designed for those looking for the efficiency and confidence of the BMC teamelite, in a more economical package. Think of it as the teamelite TE01’s little brother – sharing geometry and design technique to achieve a race-ready capability.
The teamelite TE02’s carbon construction has been adapted to create a more economical version of our ultralight TE01. Still the TE02 is one of the lightest fullcarbon hardtail 29er frames available. Torsional and lateral stiffness are very high to provide superior response and steering precision.
Vertical compliance and comfort is achieved through BMC’s Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC). Shapes, materials and carbon fiber layup have been carefully selected so the frame and seatpost work together to absorb small bumps and trail chatter, while at the same time maximizing lateral stiffness. Stiff and massively oversized chain stays immediately translate leg force into forward momentum, while a low stack height allows for a more race-oriented position. The bike is stiff for energy transmission, yet comfortable for energy conservation. The result is remarkable efficiency for bike and rider.
The frame geometry is built according to our Big Wheel Concept (BWC), which features a long and roomy top tube, a low bottom bracket and supershort chain stays. Together with a slack head angle, and short stem, you get the speed, agility and snappy acceleration you demand from a 29er race bike.
